Growing demand for space-cooling means CO2 emissions will rise causing global warming. Air Conditioners need electricity to run and most of the electricity comes from coal-fired power plants. Most of other cooling like cold storages also use fossil fuel. In China emissions related to space cooling demand in buildings emitted around quarter of billion tones of CO2 in 2017, This corresponds to roughly one-fourth of global #CO2​ emissions from space cooling. In the case of India in the next 3 decades, the trends would be steeper or even exponential Because per capita income goes up. Air conditioners become affordable . also #GlobalWarming​ would continue due to inaction of humanity to mitigate climate change It is cold-trap that heats up. We need #climate​ action.
